Job Description & Summary
A career in our tax credits and government incentives practice at PwC Canada offers the opportunity to help clients solve complex business issues related to tax credits and incentives. In the context of our team's growth and the introduction of new complex tax credits, you will act as a tax subject matter expert and assist in identifying and maximizing federal and provincial tax credits and incentives to support clients' business objectives. You will manage end-to-end engagements and client relationships, strengthen the team's tax expertise, and actively contribute to the growth of the practice.

Meaningful work you'll be part of:

As a Tax Credits and Government Incentives Senior Associate, you'll work with a team of professionals to help our clients with the preparation of their tax credits and government incentives claims. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in preparing tax credits and government incentives engagements from end-to-end, including identifying relevant programs applicable to clients' projects and preparing tax forms, incentives applications and supporting documentation
  • Conduct in-depth tax research, prepare technical positions, analyze, interpret and apply newly enacted or evolving tax legislation, translating it into practical client solutions (including federal clean economy investment tax credits, Quebec Incentive for the commercialization of innovations, C3I etc.)
  • Assist in tax authorities' audits and interactions
  • Assist in managing a portfolio of clients, including direct communication, understanding business needs and proactive file follow-up while maintaining a high level of quality and professional standards
  • Simplify complex messages and tax legislation, and communicate key insights clearly to diverse audiences
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the team and other departments
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the tax credits and government incentives practice, particularly in response to evolving tax measures and client needs
  • Stay informed on global and local trends and their impact on clients to shape strategic perspectives


Experiences and skills you'll use to solve

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or law
  • Between 1-2 years of relevant experience in taxation (previous specialized experience in tax credits is not mandatory but considered an asset)
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret tax legislation
  • Highly autonomous, proactive and capable of completing complex files from start to finish
  • Strong advisory and client relationship skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a consulting environment with multiple simultaneous assignments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good communication and presentation abilities
  • Ability to think strategically, work independently and contribute to the team
  • Fluency in French and full business proficiency in English is required

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $100,100. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
