Job Description:

THE ROLE

Our Technical Training team in San Luis Obispo, California is seeking a new Technical Training Specialist to deliver high-quality learning experiences that build employee capability, accelerate time-to-productivity, and drive operational performance. If hired into this role, you will be heavily focused on live facilitation, both in-person and virtual, and creating engaging, supportive learning environments where employees can confidently apply new skills on the job. As part of a growing and dynamic team, this position will play a key role in enhancing the learning experience to support production readiness, consistency, and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Facilitate engaging, high-quality training sessions across modalities, including classroom, virtual, hybrid, and on-the-job training, ensuring alignment with adult learning principles.

  • Lead and execute structured onboarding programs that accelerate time-to-productivity and create a consistent, positive new hire experience.

  • Adapt facilitation style, pacing, and instructional methods to meet the needs of diverse learners and varying levels of technical proficiency.

  • Prepare and manage training environments, including technology setup, equipment, materials, and overall session readiness.

  • Serve as a front-line learning resource by answering questions, reinforcing key concepts, and providing post-training support to learners.

  • Monitor learner performance through observation, assessments, and knowledge checks, identifying skill gaps and providing targeted coaching as needed.

  • Administer and track assessments, certifications, and skill validations to ensure learning objectives and compliance requirements are met.

  • Maintain accurate training records and learner data within the Learning Management System (LMS), including attendance, completion, and performance metrics.

  • Partner with supervisors and operational leaders to reinforce training outcomes, support learner development, and provide feedback on performance trends.

  • Collaborate with instructional design and training team members to continuously improve content, incorporating learner feedback, performance data, and observed gaps; maintain and update existing training materials as needed.


WHAT WE SEEK:

  • 1–3 years of experience delivering training, facilitating group learning, or supporting employee development in an operational or technical environment.

  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts and effectively engage diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt communication style and instructional approach based on learner needs, skill levels, and learning preferences.

  • Experience using virtual training platforms and learning systems, along with general proficiency in standard business tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple training sessions, track learner progress, and maintain accurate records.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional partners, including supervisors, trainees, and training team members, in a fast-paced environment.


OUTSTANDING CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

  • Strong proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS), including experience managing course assignments, tracking learner progress, generating reports, and maintaining accurate training records.

  • Experience using digital record-keeping systems or training databases to ensure data integrity, compliance, and audit readiness.

  • Familiarity with high-volume onboarding or operational training environments, with the ability to manage training data and learner throughput efficiently.

  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills, or experience supporting diverse, multilingual learner populations.

  • Compensation: $79,000 - $88,000 per year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
