Job Schedule: 9/80 - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hardware Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both analog and digital video displays and KVM over IP, along with solid experience in computer components and hardware testing. This role requires collaboration with vendors, customers, systems engineers, and software engineers to ensure successful system deliveries and support for various projects.

Essential Functions:
  • Communicate with vendors and customers to gather requirements for new projects and provide solutions to program challenges.
  • Work with other Systems Engineers and Software Engineers to understand processing and I/O requirements and identify suitable hardware.
  • Serve as the primary site Point of Contact (POC) for KVM design, integration, and troubleshooting with minimal oversight.
  • Serve as the primary hardware POC, collaborating with Systems Engineers to identify next-generation processors, Network Attached Storage (NAS), and network switches.
  • Provide computer hardware and software support to technicians in production shops, including the ability to build test operating systems and flash hardware firmware.
  • Support aircraft training systems and video conferencing design and installations.
  • Prioritize tasks and support requests from multiple programs to ensure system deliveries occur on time.
  • Troubleshoot and solve hardware-related lab and field issues, requiring a thorough understanding of mission systems and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 2-3 times per year.
  • Position requires an active DoD Secret Clearance minimum with the ability to achieve a TS/SCI clearance.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant systems engineer experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related systems engineer experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related systems engineer experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of computer components (CPU, RAM, Motherboard, Network Cards, GPUs) and experience with BIOS, UEFI, BMC, and hardware security features.
  • Demonstrated experience with Linux and Windows operating systems for hardware testing and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and understand design flow, system interconnect, and wire harness drawings supporting multiple aircraft and ground systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with generating and understanding hardware control drawings and processor drawings.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experienced with KVM over IP.
  • Experience supporting aircraft training systems and video conferencing design and installations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, solve hardware-related lab and field issues, and work closely with Greenville Hardware Engineers to define requirements.
