Job Description:

The Material Program Management position serves as the primary Supply Chain/Material Management (SC/MM) liaison for business unit programs and new business development initiatives. This role influences cross-functional SC/MM teams to develop comprehensive supply chain strategies, plans, and processes that integrate seamlessly into overall Program Management plans. Acting as the principal customer interface for all supply chain program activities, Material Program Management represents procurement on Integrated Program Teams (IPTs) and drives cross-functional resolution of material-related issues, status updates, and challenges.

Essential Functions:
• Assemble and lead all material requirements, material budgets, and supply chain deliverables for assigned programs
• Develop and deliver monthly material cost forecasts and quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) projections for program leadership and customers
• Lead and direct integrated cross-functional material teams, collaborating with suppliers, supply chain leadership, program management, functional leaders, and customers to meet subcontract cost, schedule, and technical objectives
• Manage time and resources effectively across multiple programs, prioritizing critical path activities and competing demands
• Develop and execute supply chain strategies for development and production proposals submitted to Government and Prime Contractor programs
• Drive affordability initiatives and supplier performance improvement programs, including quality enhancement efforts
• Escalate and resolve material-related issues, risks, and roadblocks with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers
• Support negotiation of subcontracts with critical, often single-source or sole-source suppliers based on specialized technology requirements
• Partner in developing supplier baseline program plans, including budget and schedule baselines aligned with overall program objectives
• Assist and provide input in contract negotiations with strategic suppliers
• Prepare and deliver presentations to peers, customers, suppliers, and senior management
• Serve as the primary SC/MM representative and customer-facing point of contact for all supply chain material program matters

Qualifications:
• Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Ability to travel up to 10% to other facilities and supplier locations nationwide

Preferred Additional Skills:
• Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
• Knowledge of supply chain management, lean manufacturing, assembly and ATP processes.
• Ability to use technical knowledge and experience to evaluate plans, processes and results of the supporting team.
• Solid working knowledge of project management methods within the defense acquisition environment including program planning, integrated master scheduling, budgeting and earned value management.
• Ability to implement product design and development stage gate process (reviews for design, build, and test).
• Experience in leading, encouraging, reviewing and critiquing work of supporting team members to maximize program success.
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously and to make real-time plan adjustments in response to problems and unexpected interim results.
