Specialist Production Planner - Detail Scheduling
What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world! In this vital role you will orchestrate production plans that ensure life-changing therapies are delivered on time, every time, to those who need them most. Main responsibilities include to analyze product supply requirements meanwhile manage supply constraints. This role will collaborate cross functionally as a key partner working with our Master Product Planners, Raw Materials Planners and the manufacturing plants.

We are looking for a strategic thinker who can develop and implement the capabilities needed to support the growing product portfolio and plays a key role in connecting the key stakeholders in the site operations and the supply chain network. This role is crucial for Amgen's success, and it will be a key contributor in the Supply Chain organization.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and maintain production plans that align with demand forecasts, inventory targets, and capacity constraints.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely availability of materials, resources, and labor to meet production schedules.
  • Analyze production data and trends to identify risks, delays, or inefficiencies in the planning process.
  • Adjust plans in response to changes in demand, supply disruptions, or operational constraints, ensuring minimal impact on output.
  • Monitor key planning metrics and performance indicators to drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of digital planning tools and systems to enhance visibility and responsiveness.
  • Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes, providing insights and recommendations based on production capabilities.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding production priorities, constraints, and changes to the plan.
  • Lead or support planning-related investigations, deviations, and change controls to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Document and share planning best practices to support standardization and team development.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to align material availability with production needs.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and performance by sharing knowledge and supporting team development.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

Or

Master's degree and 2 years of Manufacturing Support experience

Or

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Manufacturing Support experience

Or

Associate's degree and 8 years of Manufacturing Support experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Manufacturing Support experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Supply Chain areas knowledge and/or experience
  • Experience with advance spreadsheets, production schedules & capacity planning
  • Computer modeling savvy
  • ERP-SAP/ Kinaxis - Rapid Response planning system knowledge and/or experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process/operations
  • Good leadership and project management skills
  • Operational excellence mentality
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English & Spanish
