The
Specialist, Plant Engineering - Electrics Automation will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing electrical systems and automation solutions within automotive production environments. This role supports the full lifecycle of plant engineering projects-from concept through production-ensuring compliance, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical & Automation Engineering- Plan and design electrical systems for production equipment and assembly lines
- Develop electrical specifications aligned with mechanical and process requirements
- Coordinate automation systems including PLCs, industrial networks, and control systems
- Ensure integration with shopfloor IT systems (MES, SCADA, etc.)
Project & Plant Engineering- Lead electrical planning from concept to production (greenfield & brownfield)
- Support installation, commissioning, and production ramp-up
- Prepare cost estimates, technical comparisons, and vendor evaluations
- Manage change requests, improvements, and ongoing system enhancements
Stakeholder & Vendor Management- Act as the electrical subject matter expert across internal teams and suppliers
- Coordinate with production, IT, EHS, and infrastructure teams
- Review and approve vendor electrical designs and specifications
Compliance & Standards- Ensure adherence to electrical standards: NEMA, NFPA 79, NEC
- Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational guidelines
- Monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies
Must-Have Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in automotive production environments
- 3+ years of experience in assembly and automation/electrical equipment
- Strong experience in electrical planning of production equipment
- Knowledge of automation systems (PLCs, Siemens TIA Portal, control units)
- Understanding of MES, SCADA, and shopfloor IT systems
- Knowledge of electrical standards (NEMA, NFPA 79, NEC)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience in greenfield manufacturing setups
- Experience with automotive conveyor systems & assembly equipment
- Knowledge of torque data management and automated systems
- Strong stakeholder coordination and cross-functional collaboration skills
