Job Description Summary

As a Specialist, PRT Operations, you will support the day-to-day activities of the PRT operations by managing the data critical to annuitant experience, pension payroll funding, premium validation, Nationwide risk mitigation, contract drafting, and financial reporting. You will also work closely with internal and external partners across multiple areas including Finance, Treasury, Technology, Compliance, and Third-Party Administrators.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for validating TPA escheatment reporting and review weekly death report and approving or seeking appropriate authorization to write-off overpayments.
  • Manages periodic correspondence review and obtain appropriate reviews and approvals.
  • Manages the monthly data optimization process using external data search partners and researching findings to reduce Nationwide risk and initiate survivor payout, as appropriate.
  • Initiates the data misstatement process - obtaining current data file, running comparisons to identify changes, and communicating results.
  • Responsible for Third Party Administrators (TPAs) oversight including assessment of SLA metrics and call center statistics, identifying, and tracking deliverables, and manage any necessary follow-up, capturing meeting notes, cataloging service level agreement reports and other monthly compliance reporting.
  • Accountable for ensuring Power of Attorney documents meet necessary requirements to update communication documents.
  • New contract data optimization including external data search partners and oversight of TPA data gap identification to compile comprehensive list for client review and resolution. Run process to identify true up data changes, and creation of annuity exhibits that are included in the group annuity contract and annuity certificate files.
  • Handle case escalations from TPA and Matrix Partners, researching NW data in systems, and provide direction/resolution.
  • Validate monthly funding wires and providing pertinent data to finance partners for creation of accounting journal entry.
  • Accountable for manual journal entry creation for initial premium and premium true-up and validate funding wires.
  • Responsible for validating and documenting suspense account monthly reconciliation. Identify and recommend solutions for discrepancies.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Technical Director, PRT Operations

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in business, insurance, mathematics, or related field. Prefer degree or professional insurance coursework.

Experience: Six years' experience in a business information analysis role, or similar business-related position that involves analysis, problem solving, planning, coordinating, and organizing.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of business information analysis concepts, data mining, various data sources insurance policies and procedures, customer service concepts and practices. Familiarity with product terminology, processes, regulatory and compliance issues is desired. Verbal and written communication skills for interaction within the functional area, information documentation and report formulation. Ability to understand business information needs and to analyze data requests. Ability to work under tight time constraints.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range. Note on Compensation for Part-Time Roles: Please be aware that the salary ranges listed below reflect full-time compensation. Actual compensation may be prorated based on the number of hours worked relative to a full-time schedule.
