Position SummaryPosition will be responsible for implementing projects and providing daily support of automation systems for loading and off-loading terminals. Primary duty will be PLC configuration and programming related to automation systems. Duties will include automation troubleshooting, installation, and general technical system support. Will provide support of critical production systems, 7x24, to ensure continuous system availability. Activities include direct end user contact with terminal operations, corporate personnel, and vendors.
Major Accountabilities- Configure, program, implement and maintain PLC systems including related applications, hardware, interfaces, and communications.
- Collect, interpret and document requirements to develop new or modify existing solutions.
- Develop and implement automation system changes and enhancements.
- Provide support of critical systems, 7 days-a-week, 24 hours a day, to ensure continuous availability.
- Perform research and maintenance activity, including vendor coordination to ensure that expected service levels and objectives are met.
- Maintain broad understanding of information technology and business processes in order to assess impact and prioritize activities.
- Responsible for solving difficult to complex technical issues.
- Expected to continually expand scope of knowledge.
- Expected to work effectively with other I/S disciplines and operations team members, and bridge gaps as necessary.
- Travel - Must be willing and able to travel as required by the demands of the position, up to 20% of the time, but may be higher during critical project assignments.
- Work assignments at remote sites will require outside work in all types of weather conditions.
- Must be willing to work overtime when needed, including occasional weekend work
- The Associate Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 0-2 years of relevant job-related experience
- The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job-related experience
- The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
- The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job-related experience
Education RequirementBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; extensive work experience with PLC programming and terminal automation systems may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience Requirement- Relevant technical experience, including PLC programming and support

- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently, managing time and schedule to meet appropriate deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills for communication with a diversified user community and outside vendors.
- Ability to identify an issue, analyze and research the problem, and formulate a solution
- Ability to identify, isolate, and repair equipment and software affecting service for all supported locations.
- Available for 24 x 7 support as needed.
- Ability to take directions from supervisors and work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in several of these areas preferred:
- Support of PLCs deployed in petroleum industry
- Ability to read and understand P&ID drawings
- Field instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Terminal system pre-set and metering technologies.
- Basic knowledge of petroleum operations and industry terminology.
- Working knowledge of networks and Microsoft Windows
- Relational Databases, such as SQL or Oracle and PL/SQL
- Linux, Unix, or QNX
- MS Office Products
