The ideal candidate will have experience supervising instrumentation personnel, troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation systems, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and customer requirements.
Position Highlights
  • 5+ years of Instrumentation Foreman experience preferred
  • 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a chemical plant environment
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs, schematics, and isometric drawings
  • Experience working with low- and high-pressure tubing and piping systems
  • Must possess required journeyman tools
  • Experience with precision instruments and calibration equipment
  • Must be willing to follow all company and project policies and procedures


Foreman
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience with Fire & Gas standardized LAN interface systems
  • Proven leadership and supervision experience


Essential Job Duties
  • Supervise and oversee instrumentation work activities.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, isometric drawings, engineering instructions, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Install, repair, maintain, and calibrate electronic equipment, controls, and measuring devices.
  • Test and analyze electronic and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and functionality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration on instrumentation systems.
  • Complete reports documenting tests, repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.
  • Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, calibrate, and test a wide variety of industrial instrumentation used to measure and control:
    • Level
    • Flow
    • Pressure
    • Temperature
    • Process control systems
  • Install and commission metering, recording, and control devices.
  • Extend and connect related electrical circuits as needed.
  • Prepare sketches, schematics, and reports reflecting changes made to instrumentation systems.
  • Test and troubleshoot flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, detectors, and other process instruments.
  • Install and troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair process control instrument and electrical issues.
  • Review maintenance activities and identify deficiencies requiring corrective action.
  • Assist supervision with estimating, planning, and material procurement.
  • Review equipment history and work orders to identify recurring issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Support special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain familiarity with site instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Enforce company safety standards, policies, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Serve as a professional representative of Zachry while working with the customer.


Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Instrumentation Foreman experience or equivalent demonstrated knowledge.
  • 10+ years of maintenance experience in a chemical plant environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team player.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, schematics, and isometric drawings.
  • Experience using testing and measuring instruments to verify equipment performance and make adjustments.
  • Knowledge of electrical theory, wiring, calibration, and electronic devices.
  • Experience with gauges and measurement devices.
  • Experience performing calibration work and working with calibration laboratories.
  • Experience with low- and high-pressure tubing and piping systems.
  • Excellent customer-facing communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work overtime and respond to callouts as needed.
  • Must supply required journeyman tools and have experience using associated power tools.
  • Willingness to follow all company, project, and customer requirements.
  • Willingness to perform additional qualified duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Current, laid-off (ROF), or former Zachry employee
  • NCCER Industrial Instrument Technician certification
  • Formal technical education or vocational training


Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, and climbing.
  • Use of hands and arms for signaling, handling tools, and manipulating equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairways, and work from elevated platforms.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 300 feet while using proper fall protection.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and other environmental conditions.
  • Must wear required PPE, including:
    • Hard hat
    • Safety glasses
    • Gloves
    • Fall protection harness
    • Face shield
    • Hearing protection
    • Goggles


Required Certifications / Licenses
  • NCCER Industrial Instrument Technician
  • Valid Driver's License
  • TWIC Card
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
