The Specialist, HR Programs & Talent Development will play a key role in designing and delivering enterprise and sector-specific programs that enhance employee experience and talent development. This role combines strategic program design with hands-on execution, ensuring high-quality, business-aligned initiatives. The Specialist will collaborate with HR partners and senior leaders to create meaningful, high-impact experiences across the organization.
What You'll Do Here:HR Programs & Engagement- Oversee day-to-day administration of HR programs including long service awards, reward and recognition platform, annual achievement awards and scholarship program
- Measure, track and report on program effectiveness; make recommendations to improve adoption, utilization and success of HR programs and increase employee engagement
- Respond & resolve employee questions regarding HR programs or escalate to Manager, HR Programs
- Liaise with external vendors and internal stakeholders such as HR team members, Marketing & Communications or Information Services staff etc. to administer, promote or enhance HR programs
Talent Management & Development- Support the design, development, implementation of employee and leadership development programs
- Collaborate with operational HR and business leaders to identify talent needs, succession risks, and capability gaps across functions and sectors
- Act as a true business partner; building trust, challenging constructively, and helping leaders translate talent priorities into action that drives results
- Create both sector-specific and enterprise-wide talent programs that reflect the unique operational realities and nuances of each business area
- Design and deliver career paths structures, leadership development tools, and targeted programs that support capability building and internal mobility
- Use talent data and workforce insights to guide planning, track impact, and ensure readiness for future business demands
- Bridge strategy and execution; ensuring talent and development initiatives are practical, adopted by the business, and continuously adapted to meet evolving needs
HR Projects and Processes- Actively support HR projects as directed, including coordinating requirements gathering, preparing communications, collecting feedback throughout project lifecycle and supporting project launches
- This may include involvement in company-wide initiatives, year-end processes, process changes due to policy updates, new or updated employee initiatives, etc.
- Support the review of HR processes and assist with identifying efficiencies, redundancies and inconsistencies
What You Bring to the Team:- 5-7 years' experience in a Human Resources capacity
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management preferred
- Demonstrated experience in event planning and coordination, from concept to execution, including high-visibility and executive-facing initiatives
- Experience in talent management, leadership development, or HR business partnering, ideally within a complex or multi-sector organization
- Proven ability to design and implement practical, business-aligned talent programs in partnership with HR and operational leaders
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong ability to manage logistics, timelines, and deliver consistently high-quality results
- Highly organized with strong project coordination skills; thrives in managing multiple moving parts and delivering polished outcomes
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging, and professional content for a variety of audiences
- Brings a high level of professionalism and discretion, with a "white glove" approach to stakeholder interactions, including business leaders
- Proactive and accountable, takes full ownership of projects, anticipates needs, and drives initiatives forward independently
- Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and move initiatives forward across diverse stakeholder groups
This role follows a hybrid work model, combining in-office collaboration and flexibility, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.Reason for vacancy: Replacement
The expected salary range for this opportunity is $85,000-$95,000 per year
