Full Job Description
Purpose of Role:

The purpose of this role is to provide support for the delivery of Human Resource services, EDI initiatives, corporate culture programs, and office communications to Hudbay's corporate office.

Role Accountabilities:
  • Compensation & Performance Year-End: Provide support during the year-end performance evaluations and compensation reviews for corporate employees.
  • TSM EDI Protocol: Review the requirements of the mining industry's TSM EDI protocol, track Hudbay's current standing, and actively recommend program enhancements to achieve and sustain an "A" rating.
  • EDI Speaker Series: Coordinate and execute the logistics for the scheduled EDI speaker series (utilizing the speakers already arranged for the next 12 months).
  • Corporate Communications: Draft and lead company-wide communications that celebrate diversity calendars, highlight corporate initiatives, and promote actions taken to build a positive workplace culture.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Coordinate the logistics of onboarding and offboarding of corporate employees.
  • HR Data & Reporting: Create and maintain digital employee personnel files. Process employee movements and accurately update HR Information System (HRIS). Compile baseline HR data reports upon request
  • Compensation Surveys: Provide support for participation in annual compensation surveys, including compiling baseline workforce data and preparing initial survey submissions
  • Corporate Recognition: Provide support for the execution of the corporate recognition program.
  • Corporate Social Events: Coordinate and support various corporate office social events.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience within a Human Resources generalist, specialist, or corporate culture role
  • Demonstrated experience running corporate onboarding programs, writing internal diversity/culture communications, tracking compliance metrics, and supporting year-end talent processes.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Communications, or an equivalent field of study


Other skills:
  • Foundational understanding of Ontario employment law, human rights legislation, and corporate HR policies.
  • Deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, unconscious bias mitigation, and methods to turn policy theory into highly engaging, inclusive workplace initiatives.
  • Awareness of the mining industry's Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) EDI protocols or similar ESG frameworks is considered an asset.
  • Excellent drafting skills to craft clear and professional company-wide communications and culture updates
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to execute seamless virtual or in-person events


Compensation
  • Expected Compensation: Base salary $75,000 - $95,000 CAD per year
  • The opportunity to work out of our Platinum Class A and Platinum BOMA BEST® Certified office building in Toronto's South Core Business District conveniently located beside the newly renovated Toronto Union Station
  • This role is eligible for flexible working arrangements, allowing you to balance remote work with time in the office. Hudbay requires employees to spend roughly half of their work time in office.
