What The Role IsUnder the direction of the Environmental Director, the Environmental Specialist supports environmental compliance and program implementation across the North Region. North Region States include but may not be limited to Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa and Oklahoma.
This role partners closely with Facility Management and Operations to ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and company programs, including hazardous waste management, petroleum and chemical handling, spill prevention, and stormwater management.
The position is responsible for supporting consistent environmental performance across multiple sites, ensuring cost-effective use of company resources, and maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
Frequent travel across assigned states is required. This is a hybrid role with significant field presence. Work performed in office and field environments, including construction and operational sites.
What You'll Be Doing- Promote and reinforce environmental compliance and safety culture across all assigned facilities.
- Support facility compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Prepare and assist with environmental reports and regulatory filings.
- Conduct site visits, audits, and compliance assessments across multiple states.
- Identify environmental risks and develop corrective actions.
- Implement environmental programs such as SPCC, SWPPP, and waste management programs.
- Maintain compliance with environmental permits.
- Support Environmental Compliance Management Systems (ECMS).
- Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.
- Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts.
- Support spill response and incident reporting.
- Provide training to site personnel.
- Travel required (40-50%) across WA, OR, NV, UT, ID, WY, CO, NE, IA and OK.
What You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (RCRA, CWA, CAA).
- Experience with environmental compliance at industrial or renewable energy facilities.
- Ability to interpret permits and regulations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data systems.
What Would Be Nice- Multi-site experience preferred
- DOT hazardous materials certification is a plus.
- Experience with Tier II reporting is a plus.

This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations
$77,000-$95,000 USD
