Job Description:

The Contracts department influences successful business outcomes in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income and free cash flow for new and continuing programs. Provides business, contractual and risk mitigation strategy guidance. Analyzes new laws, regulations and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives. Protects the interest of the company by understanding and interpreting contractual terms and conditions. Utilizes working knowledge of regulations including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements (e.g. DFARS) and other agency regulations. Analyzes significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and corporate policies and procedures. Manages the contractual review of solicitations, proposal development, contract change control process and overall contract administration. Establishes and maintains primary contractual interface with the customer. Maximizes cash through innovative contract formation and negotiation to achieve business objectives.

Essential Functions:
  • The Contracts Specialist is an experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management.
  • May manage projects or processes with general supervision.
  • Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
  • Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
  • Manages the contractual review of solicitations, proposal development, contract change control process and overall contract administration.
  • Acts as primary point of contact between L3Harris and customer.
  • Provides business, contractual and risk mitigation strategy guidance
  • Assists with necessary agreements (e.g. Non-disclosure Agreements, Bailment Agreements, Memorandum of Agreement/Understanding)
  • Working knowledge of regulations including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and supplements (e.g. DFARS)
  • Works under general supervision
  • Minimal travel, as required
  • Ability to obtain security clearance


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Microsoft Office - MS Word, MS PPT, MS Excel etc.
  • Will require data entry into Contracts order entry system
