Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Specialist (P2)

The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Specialist acts as a subject matter expert and administration person for MES. The MES Specialist's primary responsibility is to support and help sustain that the deployment of our Company standard MES system is successfully and compliantly designed, developed, deployed, and supported to maximize business benefits and are in line with site business process and technical standards.
  • The MES Specialist will have regular direct interaction with the Site Digital Steward, MBR authors, MES site organization, MES and SAP COE's, Tech Ops, Operations, Quality, and IT. The Specialist is responsible for following standard processes and procedures in performing their duties. These include cGMP regulations, SOPs and global business processes. The MES Specialist is responsible for activities that include the following:
  • Identifies and implements continuous process improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinates and approves relevant procedures for MES access and user management, performance management, qualifications and testing, may participate in vulnerability assessments, IT hardware to include workstation design and setup on the production lines, business continuity planning, obsolescence planning and the main site contact for MES upgrades and continuous system improvements.
  • Works with site and above site MES teams to sustain electronic Master Batch Records, stays relevant on MES training, coordinates site MES administration activities, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and standard MES configuration.
  • Is liaison to MES COE, AMS and Digital Manufacturing organizations.
  • Will be heavily involved in MES / MBR deployments at the site and assist in key project activities.
  • Executes the appropriate change control and MES site life-cycle actions and processes to assure the MES system is in a state of control and compliance.
  • Collaborates and assists with troubleshooting to efficiently resolve manufacturing problems, providing MES support to operations.
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems and Regulatory Standards to provide assurance and foster quality decisions with project teams and their site Quality unit.
  • Support other digital system initiatives such as OEE+ as needed.


Education Minimum Requirement:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree and minimum (1) year MES administration of a major MES platform
  • Or High School diploma and three (3) years MES PAS-X administration experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent facilitation, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Previous MES System Administration Training
  • Experience in a production regulated industry.
  • Lean Six Sigma certifications

The salary range for this role is
$87,300.00 - $137,400.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
