We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to support the inventory accounting function within the Spectrum Superiority (S2) sector. Reporting to the Associate Manager of Accounting, this role is responsible for inventory accounting activities including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and inventory valuation. Ensures accuracy of raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and reserve balances in compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Essential Functions:
  • Maintain accurate inventory accounting records, including raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and reserves.
  • Perform monthly inventory close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor inventory transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP, company policy, and internal controls.
  • Analyze inventory balances, excess and obsolete reserves, scrap, cycle count results, and inventory adjustments.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, manufacturing, and finance teams to resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Prepare and review reports related to inventory valuation, accuracy, and financial statement impact.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle count programs, including reconciliation of count results.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, analysis, and explanations of inventory activity.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to strengthen inventory accuracy, reporting efficiency, and control compliance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4-8 years of relevant accounting or cost/inventory accounting experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Experience in Infor LN ERP system and Hyperion Financial Management
  • Experience with US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Experience facilitating internal and external audits
  • Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and GAAP.
  • Ability to analyze inventory transactions and identify discrepancies or control issues.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $73,000 - $135,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
