Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly technical Special Projects Lead to serve as a critical Subject Matter Expert for our business unit. You will be responsible for providing expert troubleshooting, operational oversight, and technical guidance to ensure the reliability and success of our heavy earthworks and processing operations. This role is essential to our business success, requiring a hands-on leader capable of instantly diagnosing and resolving complex equipment and operational challenges.

What You'll Do
  • Troubleshoot & Resolve: Act as the primary technical expert to instantly diagnose and address complex operational and equipment issues.
  • Drive Reliability: Ensure our heavy earthworks, forestry, and gravel crushing equipment operate at peak efficiency.
  • Oversee Field Operations: Provide leadership and on-site support for significant projects across Western Canada.
  • Consult & Strategize: Partner with management to evaluate performance, implement process improvements, and drive strategic business outcomes.


What You Bring
  • Travel Commitment: Ability and willingness to undertake frequent travel throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan to support critical project sites.
  • Deep Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in heavy earthworks and processing equipment (e.g., forestry or gravel crushing operations). While landfill experience is an asset, a strong background in similar heavy industrial environments is highly valued.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: A proven track record of instantly troubleshooting and resolving complex equipment or operational issues.
  • Mobility: Must be available for significant travel throughout Western Canada.
  • Commitment: Ability to work a schedule involving heavy overtime to ensure the success of critical projects.
  • Independence: Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, autonomous environment and make sound, on-the-spot decisions.
