Full Job Description
ABOUT THE TEAM

The Special Projects team within Finance helps lead Anduril's financing strategy, complex strategic transactions, and cross-functional initiatives that don't sit neatly within any one org. We structure and lead negotiations on some of Anduril's largest and most complex deals - financing transactions with banks and investors, and major commercial engagements with customers - owning those processes from internal framing through execution. The work requires getting close to the business: we partner directly with operations, contracts, supply chain, and division finance teams to understand the economics and operating constraints, develop a point of view, and drive decisions. Beyond transactions, we take on high-priority problems that span functions or lack a clear owner, working with the relevant teams from initial analysis through implementation.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Special Projects, Finance team member to join our growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. You will have real ownership early, taking on a mix of live transactions and high-priority projects and driving them from initial analysis through execution. The role combines the financial rigor of investing with far closer proximity to the business: you will build the analysis, form a view, work directly with the teams closest to the problem, and turn decisions into action. You should be comfortable working through incomplete information, going deep when the details matter, and moving between financial models, operating discussions, and recommendations to senior leadership. This is a role for someone with a strong foundation in investment banking and buyout private equity who wants broader scope and more direct ownership than either seat typically offers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own the financial models behind Anduril's financings, strategic transactions, and major investment decisions end-to-end - sizing, structural alternatives, and downside scenarios.
  • Drive the analytical workstream on live transactions from first framing through close - pressure-testing terms, building diligence materials, and tracking where each negotiating position actually lands.
  • Build operating models that connect the underlying business to financial outcomes. Get deep into how a factory ramps, what a program costs to execute, and where the business is exposed, then translate that analysis for banks, investors, and other external counterparties.
  • Build durable frameworks for capital allocation and investment decisions across new facilities, capacity expansion, vertical integration, and other non-routine commitments.
  • Go get the data yourself. Work directly with supply chain, manufacturing, contracts, and program teams, pull from our corporate systems, and reconcile messy inputs into numbers you would defend line by line.
  • Own ambiguous initiatives that have no natural owner. Frame the problem, build the analysis, land on a recommendation, and drive it through implementation.
  • Present directly to senior leadership and work across functions, from Legal and Accounting to Supply Chain and Manufacturing. You will be expected to defend your analysis, navigate competing priorities, and bring a group that does not report to you to a decision.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of experience, including time at a top-tier investment bank and at a buyout private equity firm - ideally with both LevFin or Restructuring experience and industrials coverage.
  • Exceptional financial modeling ability. You can build detailed, structurally sound models from the ground up, but also know when a quick analysis is enough to make the decision at hand.
  • Strong command of debt financing structures, capital structure, and credit. You understand how financing decisions affect the operating decisions that follow.
  • Real business judgment and an operational tilt. You can see what actually drives a program's economics and which assumptions are critical, even from messy and incomplete information. You are excited to be in the program reviews and on the factory floor where those answers come from.
  • A first-principles thinker with strong institutional grounding. You know the standard playbook well enough to know when to use it - and when the problem calls for something else.
  • Extremely high agency. You are comfortable working through genuinely hard problems, don't wait to be told to move, and can sprint when the situation demands it.
  • Comfortable presenting to large, extremely senior audiences and company leadership.
  • Demonstrated interest in industrial and defense technology.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Direct operating experience inside a company, ideally in a high-growth environment. Candidates combining investment banking, buyout private equity, and operating experience are particularly compelling.
  • Direct project finance, structured finance, or dedicated financing transaction experience.
  • Deep exposure to industrials, aerospace and defense, or manufacturing businesses, whether through coverage, deal work, or time at a portfolio company.
  • Former founder or early-stage operator - you have built something without a playbook.
  • Undergraduate degree in a STEM, engineering, or quantitative major.
