Position OverviewThe Catering Sales Manager owns the full sales lifecycle-from prospecting and relationship development through event execution-driving revenue while delivering exceptional client experiences. Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Revenue- Meet or exceed budgeted booking goals and revenue targets across all special event areas
- Drive sales across corporate, social, nonprofit, and wedding market segments
- Apply advanced closing, negotiation, and presentation techniques to maximize revenue
Client Experience & Relationships- Build and maintain long-term client relationships that generate repeat business
- Conduct engaging site tours and tailored client presentations showcasing venue capabilities
- Represent Castaway through industry associations, networking groups, and community involvement
Execution & Collaboration- Partner closely with culinary and banquet teams to ensure seamless event execution
- Create clear, accurate, and detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
- Monitor events in real time, address challenges quickly, and implement effective solutions
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics
Education & Experience- 4+ years of catering or event sales experience required
- Experience with a comparable venue size and sales volume strongly preferred
- Proven ability to prioritize, plan, and manage multiple events simultaneously
- Strong written communication skills-clear, concise, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines
- Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
