Up to $34-44/hour | Jasper, AL | Full-Time Hours | 2026-2027 School Year | Full-time contract position supporting students with diverse learning needs in a collaborative, structured school environment.

  • Full Time - Starting August 2026
  • 1.0 FTE, M-F
About the Role

Hello, Special Education Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher for a school setting in Jasper, AL. In this role, you'll play a critical part in student success by implementing specialized instruction, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with IEP goals and student progress. This is a great fit for both seasoned special education teachers and those new to school-based settings.


What You'll Do
  • Deliver standards-based instruction aligned with the Alabama Course of Study (ACOS), developing and implementing engaging lesson plans to support diverse learning needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student goals and accommodations were effectively addressed.
  • Facilitate IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and ongoing communication with families, educators, and support staff regarding student progress and needs.
  • Utilize differentiated instruction, educational technology, and a variety of instructional resources to maximize student engagement and achievement.
  • Assess student performance through formal and informal evaluations, using data to monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Establish and maintained a positive classroom environment by implementing effective behavior management strategies and enforcing school policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate student records, documentation, reports, and compliance requirements in accordance with federal, state, district, and school regulations.
  • Support overall school operations through collaboration with colleagues, participation in professional meetings, and completion of additional duties assigned by school and district administrators.
