Middle school Special Education Teacher needed for a BEACON MOID program!

Position Details:
  • BEACON MOID (Moderate Intellectual Disability) program at Cowan Road Middle School in Griffin-Spalding County
  • Full Time
  • 1.0 FTE, M-F


What You'll Do
  • Provide specialized, IEP-driven instruction across academic, behavioral, and functional domains
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with student IEP goals and individual needs
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate data, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to support access to the general curriculum
  • Create and maintain a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes positive behavior
  • Support students with daily living skills, including toileting, feeding, mobility, and health-related needs as required
  • Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for IEP development, timelines, and implementation


What We're Looking For
  • Hold or be eligible for Georgia Special Education Adapted Curriculum (P-12) certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Experience or knowledge supporting students with moderate intellectual disabilities and significant support needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • School-based experience preferred, not required
