Middle school Special Education Teacher needed for a BEACON MOID program! Position Details:- BEACON MOID (Moderate Intellectual Disability) program at Cowan Road Middle School in Griffin-Spalding County
- Full Time
- 1.0 FTE, M-F
What You'll Do- Provide specialized, IEP-driven instruction across academic, behavioral, and functional domains
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with student IEP goals and individual needs
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate data, reports, and compliance documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to support access to the general curriculum
- Create and maintain a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes positive behavior
- Support students with daily living skills, including toileting, feeding, mobility, and health-related needs as required
- Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for IEP development, timelines, and implementation
What We're Looking For- Hold or be eligible for Georgia Special Education Adapted Curriculum (P-12) certification
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution
- Experience or knowledge supporting students with moderate intellectual disabilities and significant support needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- School-based experience preferred, not required
