Full Job Description
Relative Dynamics is currently seeking Spacecraft RF Engineers with relevant Spectrum Analysis experience to work on NASA's growing Human Space Flight Missions such as Artemis, Commercial Programs such as Dream Chaser and Commercial Space Stations, and internal R&D efforts for the future of space communications. What You'll Get to Do: • Perform spectrum management & coordination tasks for RF systems and interface with other NASA centers and federal agencies to resolve spectrum issues. • Determine the performance of Radio Frequency (RF) communication links and create link budgets using analytical methods or by applying analysis and simulation tools. • Perform RF Radio Frequency interference and compatibility analysis for Space based communication systems. • Assess RF interference statistics using ITU-R and NTIA recommendations to evaluate potential for harmful interference to or from NASA systems. • Perform data reductions, analyze, and document results for presentation to customers. • Familiar with antennas, antenna polarization, power spectral density, and & spectral roll-off • Perform R&D tasks on experimental projects for upcoming communication technologies. The position may be filled on level lower. What You'll Need: Requirements: • Must be U.S. Citizen • BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school • 5+ years of relevant experience • High knowledge of digital communications, RF system analysis, FEC coding, and communications engineering. • In depth understanding of communication systems such as phase modulation, spread spectrum, signal detection, signal and interference analysis, baseband filtering, data formatting etc. • Knowledge of spectrum regulations, regulatory approval process, radio frequency compatibility/interference assessment including dynamic simulations. • Familiar with analysis software such as Matlab, Simulink, and System Tool Kit (STK) equivalent.
