Job Description
Aurex is seeking a Space Vehicle Bus Systems Engineer to drive systems engineering and integration across critical spacecraft bus subsystems supporting national security missions. This role is responsible for ensuring subsystem performance, integration, and technical alignment across the full space vehicle lifecycle. You will operate across multiple engineering domains, coordinating subsystem development and ensuring alignment with system-level requirements, schedules, and mission objectives. This role requires a technically grounded engineer who can analyze complex systems, engage across stakeholders, and drive disciplined execution in a high-performance environment. In this role, you will lead systems engineering efforts across space vehicle bus subsystems, including structures, mechanisms, electrical power, attitude control, thermal, propulsion, communications, and command and data handling. You will support and participate in major program reviews, including SRR, SDR, SFR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, FCA, and PCA, ensuring technical readiness and compliance with DoD acquisition processes. You will analyze subsystem and program-level integrated master schedules and evaluate contractor earned value management data to assess program performance and identify risks. You will collaborate with government clients and contractor teammates to ensure integration across subsystems and alignment with mission requirements. You will support system-level testing and verification, ensuring subsystems are integrated and validated to meet mission performance objectives.

  • 7+ years of experience with systems engineering, planning, development, integration, and testing of at least two space vehicle subsystems, including structures, mechanisms, electrical power, attitude control, thermal, propulsion, communications, or command and data handling
  • 3+ years of experience with space system and DoD program reviews, including SRR, SDR, SFR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, FCA, or PCA
  • Experience with collaboration tools, including Confluence or Jira
  • Experience analyzing subsystem and program-level integrated master schedules
  • Experience analyzing contractor earned value management data
  • Ability to be highly motivated, with a dynamic work ethic and commitment to the DoD mission
