The Space and Intelligence Division provides professional services to the US Space Force, Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community, and NASA. The Strategic Technology Analysis Group, part of SPA’s Space and Intelligence Division, offers sophisticated capabilities (people, process & tools) to resolve unique problems in space, cyber, and special operations in support to military services, Secretary of Defense offices (OSD) and theater warfighters.  Our portfolio includes the Assistant Secretary of Air Force for Space Acquisition & Integration (SAF/SQ), Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC), Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO), US Space Command (USSPACECOM) and US Space Force (USSF).  Come be a part of a high-speed low-drag organization providing unique and tailored solutions for our National Defense!

 

SPA has an immediate need for a Space Threat & Domain Awareness Analyst.

Responsibilities

The Space Threat & Domain Awareness Analyst will provide vital analytical and technical leadership to advance critical National Security Space initiatives across the broader Department of War (DoW) and U.S. Space Force (USSF) enterprise.

 

Key duties associated with this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Integrate strategic defense guidance, real-world operational scenarios, and Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Force Design concepts across multiple classification enclaves to shape future resilient architectures.
  • Leverage experience with space surveillance architecture, orbital mechanics, space object tracking, and signature analysis to characterize evolving adversary capabilities and assess spacecraft maneuvers and anomalies.
  • Synthesize complex intelligence reporting and systems engineering data to establish comprehensive space threat baselines that directly inform both offensive and defensive space operations at the intersection of technical engineering and operational intelligence.
  • Bridge the gap between deep technical engineering and all-source operational intelligence.
  • Translate multi-phenomenology sensor data and intelligence reporting into actionable threat baselines.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, intelligence analysts, and operational warfighters to evaluate adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures across both offensive and defensive space mission areas.
  • Evaluations and technical insights will directly drive requirements for next-generation SDA toolsets, inform mission assurance strategies, and empower senior defense decision-makers to safeguard critical space assets in contested environments.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance at time of application
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, Intelligence Studies, or related discipline
  • 6+ years of experience with space surveillance architectures to include space object tracking, orbital mechanics, signature analysis
  • Knowledge of orbital maneuvers, anomaly resolution, and space threat environments
  • Experience synthesizing intelligence reporting, threat assessments, and systems engineering judgments to generate a threat baseline 
  • Knowledge of offensive and defensive space operations 
  • Experience with interfacing between organizations across the broader DoW and National Security Space Enterprise 
  • Ability to report to designated work location in Colorado Springs, up to full time, based on the needs of the customer

 Desired:

  • Hands-on operational experience with Space Situational Awareness toolsets 
  • Background/fundamental understanding of orbital mechanics/astrodynamics 
  • Experience with USSF and other DoW space agency special access program (SAP) activities

Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Colorado, Pay Transparency Salary range: USD $150,000.00/Yr. - USD $200,000.00/Yr.
