Title:Space Systems Engineer
KBR has an opportunity for a Space Systems Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on support for systems engineering activities and protection of space systems.
Key Responsibilities: - Directly contribute to government's mission success through comprehensive analysis, thought leadership and proactive action.
- Assist in planning and oversight of the government's systems engineering efforts.
- Support space protection and mission integration as directed by the government.
- Review documentation, represent government interests in forums that support streamlined delivery of new capabilities and standardization of integration efforts.
Work Environment:- Location: On-site
- Travel Requirements: Minimal 20%
- Working Hours: Standard
Basic Compensation:$110,000 - $120,000 USD annually
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
QUALIFICATIONS Required:- US Citizenship
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and three (3) years or more experience, Masters in STEM or relevant field, and one (1) year or more experience.
- Experience in systems engineering processes (e.g. SE lifecycle, risk management, change management, etc.).
- Strong understanding of integrating Government capabilities into operations baseline.
- Expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics; succinctly captures issues for the customer and provides analysis and recommendations.
- Ability to work independently and with a team, operate effectively with contractor, SETA, FFRDC, and Government teammates.
- Self-starter, anticipates and proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision, ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables.
- Polished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.
- Master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder.
QUALIFICATIONS Desired:- Working knowledge of joint operations planning processes.
- Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft or ground systems operator
- Familiar with MBSE/Digital Engineering, AGILE development, cloud technologies
- Experience with Jira, Confluence
- Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics.
- Knowledge of space protection topics related to satellite operations (e.g. launch, communications, navigation, maneuvers, etc.), threat/risk assessments, vulnerability analysis.
