Job Description

SAIC, a leading provider of systems development & deployment, targeting & intelligence analysis, systems engineering & integration, and training capabilities and solutions for the Intelligence Community, is seeking a Space Innovation Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services to a United States Government customer in Chantilly, VA. SETA contractors provide analysis and engineering services in a consulting capacity, working closely with the government's own engineering staff members. In this position, you will provide management and outreach support to the Government Customer R&D program manager. This includes researching, recommending, and implementing R&D management actions and outreach activities to increase awareness, exposure, and knowledge of the Government Customer's R&D program internally, at other US Government agencies, traditional and non-traditional vendors, and top colleges and universities across the United States.

Management Support
  • Assist R&D PM
    • Plan and execute new research programs
    • Develop strategic plans and technology roadmaps
    • Prepare documentation for awarding R&D contracts
    • Support planning and excitation of budgetary aspects of the R&D Program
    • Prepare, present, and defend results of source selection activities
  • Brief senior government officials on R&D Program purpose and objectives
  • Monitor and report on multiple projects' costs, schedules, and performance status


Outreach/Communications
  • Prepare and present R&D program briefings to external organizations
  • Attend as an exhibitor, R&D-relevant conferences and university seminars
  • Prepare trip summaries for senior management on all external presentations
  • Identify target audience(s) and determine effective communications methods
  • Design/Maintain compelling outreach information for multi-media communications


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelors and 10 years or more experience; Masters with 8 years experience
  • Ability to work on-site in US Government facilities
  • Current TS/SCI with polygraph
  • Effective interpersonal skills, strong briefing, and written communications skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • STEM Degree
  • Level II (or higher) APDP DoD Program Management certification or equivalent
  • Experience developing and coordinating technology roadmaps with multiple agencies
  • Experience with social media, print/digital magazines, or other digital advertisement
  • Experience in exhibitor and conference planning support
