Space and Defense Performance Leader - 1st Shift

Onsite – Buffalo, NY

To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline with 2 years’ manufacturing experience OR Associates degree with 4 years’ manufacturing experience.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years’ direct management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

As a Production Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise and manage a team of 15–20 employees in a machine shop setting.

  • Work with the Manufacturing Manager to develop and implement improvement plans (Value Stream or Production Improvement Plans) to achieve high-impact results.

  • Define, track, and measure short- and long-term team goals aligned with organizational strategy.

  • Use established standard work and production documentation to optimize personnel and equipment utilization, workflow, and cost efficiency.

  • Hire, train, evaluate, and develop team members; manage performance and succession/growth opportunities.

  • Proactively address and resolve employee relations issues; administer counseling, discipline, and performance feedback fairly and consistently.

  • Ensure accurate employee time reporting and consistent application of personnel policies.

  • Support safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.

  • Experience with lean/manufacturing/process improvement tools (preferred).

  • Effective communication and conflict-resolution abilities.

  • Ability to analyze production metrics and drive corrective actions.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $75,000.00–$110,000.00 Annually
