What you can expect to be doing:

Haley Ward is seeking an experienced industry leader to fill the role of Southern Maine and New Hampshire Land Development Manager.

The position is responsible for planning, organizing, designing, and controlling the activities of projects to best accomplish the successful completion while operating within established schedules, budgets, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) policy constraints. Typical projects will entail Land Development Civil Engineering with an emphasis on large-scale multifamily, retail, office, educational, industrial, and manufacturing site plans.
  • Leading, managing, overseeing, delegating tasks and engaging in design of land development projects and client relationships in the southern Maine and New Hampshire area.
  • Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing work of engineers, technicians, and designers.
  • Conducting design concept including drainage analysis of professional, economical, and effective sets of plans and specifications, based on Client needs and wants.
  • Presenting projects to Boards and Commission for approval
  • Working with Regulatory Agencies for project approvals
  • Preparing agreements including scope, schedule, work plan, fees and monitors financial performance of projects.
  • Participating in career path planning and development, performance plans, mentoring, and resource sharing for supervised team members.
  • Cultivating personal business relationships and seeking opportunities for cross-selling to enhance and expand existing client relationships during and after projects.
  • Support communities in the development of long term investment plans. Provide guidance to client communities on sourcing and securing funding of projects.


What you will need to succeed:
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred.
  • Advanced degree or experience in the area of work specialization is desirable.
  • Minimum of 15 years of related industry experience is preferred.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer is required.
  • Sound mathematical skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Leadership acumen is essential. Effective manager of people with the ability to inspire, lead, communicate, support, and mentor.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices relating to appropriate discipline.
  • Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others.
  • Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required.

Location: Portland, ME - Ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work (Required)

The estimated range for this role is: $123,323 to $169,225. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, credentials, skills, and demonstrated proficiency for the role. Compensation is reviewed at least annually each year. Compensation is also adjusted throughout the year to recognize position advancement, responsibilities and licensure and/or certification.
