Pay Grade: 10Job SummaryAs a
Chef, you will support patient-centered and retail culinary operations by providing frontline culinary leadership and resources within a healthcare setting. You will help ensure patient, visitor, and staff satisfaction through high-quality food production, strong operational support, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. This role may include assisting with staff scheduling, training, and hiring as needed.
You will work closely with the Executive Chef to support menu development, recipe execution, purchasing, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic, hands-on culinary professional with a passion for healthcare dining.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide frontline culinary leadership and operational support across assigned areas
- Assist with food cost controls, menu planning, purchasing, and quality assurance to ensure compliance with established standards
- Support the planning and preparation of regular, modified, and therapeutic menus as applicable
- Produce and execute catering events for hospital meetings and special functions
- Support the rollout of new culinary programs and initiatives in collaboration with marketing and culinary leadership
- Assist with monitoring and controlling expenses to meet operational and financial goals
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall foodservice operation
Preferred Qualifications- 1-3 years of culinary management experience
- Experience in healthcare foodservice, restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, or related foodservice operations
- Hands-on chef experience required
- Catering experience preferred
- Experience with high-volume batch cooking and complex foodservice operations strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food production, menu execution, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation standards
- ServSafe Certification preferred
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
- Associate's degree in Culinary Arts preferred
