POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sourcing Manager will be a key member of Avtron's Global Sourcing team, responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that enable successful new product development and local sourcing initiatives to ensure alignment with broader supply chain strategies and business needs.

This role will serve as a strategic partner within cross-functional project teams, collaborating closely with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management to influence design decisions, optimize cost structures, and ensure supply chain readiness from concept through production. Although strategic in scope, this role will require deep, hands-on expertise in sourcing, manufacturing processes, and supplier management, acting as the primary point of contact for all new product procurement activities-including supplier selection, cost negotiations, and product launches from initial design through component FAI approval-while driving informed decision-making and resolving complex challenges.

The Sourcing Manager will build and manage a high-performing supplier network while driving cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and supply chain resilience across multiple programs. The role will require strong cross-functional leadership and the ability to align stakeholders around program goals, timelines, and sourcing strategies, while also playing a key role in setting up local supply chain teams for success through strong data integrity, the development of reliable sources of supply, and the availability of cost-effective components to support scalable and efficient operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and execute sourcing strategies that support new product development programs and local sourcing initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and cost objectives
  • Serve as the primary supply chain leader within cross-functional project teams, influencing stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Project Management, Product Management, and Sales to drive design, sourcing, and execution decisions
  • Manage end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFQ development, supplier selection, negotiations, and contract execution, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance
  • Oversee the supply chain lifecycle for new products, from concept through FAI approval and production launch, ensuring readiness, risk mitigation, and schedule adherence
  • Establish and develop a reliable and competitive supplier base, including supplier audits, evaluations, onboarding, and performance management to support both new products and local supply needs
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of sourcing and material data within ERP systems (SAP/MRP), including BOM management, to enable effective planning, production scheduling, and local team execution
  • Drive cost competitiveness through should-cost analysis, negotiations, and sourcing strategies, while maintaining quality and supply continuity
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks by developing alternate sourcing strategies, managing capacity constraints, and ensuring continuity for critical components
  • Provide technical and operational leadership leveraging expertise in manufacturing processes, BOM structures, production scheduling, and supply chain systems to guide decisions and resolve complex challenges
  • Enable local supply chain teams for success by delivering robust sourcing frameworks, reliable supply channels, and cost-effective component strategies
