Description:
The department consists of 5 ultrasound rooms with 1 primary room for the sonographer's use.
The role does not require floating to other areas.
Common imaging/studies performed include examinations for venous insufficiencies, arterial duplex, ABI/PVR, renal artery stenosis, SMA, abdominal Doppler, carotid, and aorta.
The expected average number of scans/studies per day is 8 to 10.
The equipment utilized includes Philips Elite and Parks Flo Lab systems.
A radiology supervisor or lead technician is present on each shift to provide oversight.
No IV starts are required for this position.
The schedule is predetermined, and there is central management of patient scheduling, with no self-scheduling options.
Weekend and holiday work is not required, and there are no on-call or standby requirements.
Scrubs are required but not provided, with any solid color acceptable.
Training/orientation consists of 1-2 weeks in the department.
