Responsibilities for this Position

Responsibilties

  • Develop, administer, enhance, and support project portfolio management, business intelligence, and other custom, low-code, commercial, or shared business applications.
  • Own application-level configuration, environments, access roles, integrations, scheduled jobs, data flows, releases, and technical support in accordance with enterprise controls.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand desired business outcomes and independently translate requirements into application designs, prototypes, features, and implementation plans.
  • Write, review, test, and maintain high-quality application code, scripts, queries, interfaces, and automation using appropriate languages, frameworks, and platform services.
  • Design and maintain APIs, database structures, data pipelines, reporting models, and cross-system integrations that provide accurate and traceable information.
  • Apply secure development, configuration, identity and access, data-protection, logging, audit, and records-management requirements throughout the application lifecycle.
  • Establish and operate disciplined source-control, branching, code-review, testing, deployment, release, rollback, and change-documentation practices.
  • Conduct functional, non-functional, unit, integration, regression, security, and user acceptance testing using representative data and documented acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor application availability, performance, data quality, integrations, and scheduled processing; troubleshoot incidents, determine root causes, and implement durable corrective actions.
  • Maintain application roadmaps, technical backlogs, architecture records, support documentation, recovery procedures, and knowledge needed for reliable continuity.
  • Evaluate and reduce technical debt, improve usability and performance, and recommend sustainable platform, architecture, and lifecycle improvements.
  • Identify and implement approved AI, large language model, machine learning, and automation capabilities where they improve user outcomes, decision support, or operational efficiency.
  • Lead small application projects and technical workstreams, coordinating estimates, dependencies, risks, communications, demonstrations, releases, and stakeholder acceptance.
  • Provide technical guidance, user enablement, and concise presentations or reports to business leaders, peers, support teams, and application stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent education and relevant experience, plus 5 years of related experience; or a Master's degree plus 3 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, administering, integrating, deploying, and supporting business applications across the full solution lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in at least one application-development language or platform, such as Python, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET, or an enterprise low-code platform.
  • Familiarity with SQL, relational data concepts, data integration, APIs, scripting, and reporting or analytics solutions.
  • Experience with source control, automated or repeatable testing, release management, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Working knowledge of secure software development, role-based access, auditability, data protection, and enterprise change controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to act independently on complex tasks and wide-ranging small initiatives.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or administering portfolio, project, resource, workflow, analytics, dashboard, or management-information applications.
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform, Jira, ServiceNow, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, or comparable enterprise tools.
  • Experience with modern web application architecture, cloud or server-hosted environments, containers, observability, and automated deployment practices.
  • Working knowledge of AI, large language models, machine learning, retrieval-augmented generation, or AI-enabled application patterns.
  • Experience with Lean-Agile delivery and DevSecOps practices, including Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
  • Relevant application development, cloud, platform administration, security, ITIL, or project management certifications.
