DESCRIPTION

Summary:

Provides application solution engineering support to our customers, sales, product and application teamsDetermines customer's existing and evolving technical application needs and applies or adapts internal and 3rd party products to satisfy those needsProvides support pre/post sale to ensure an accurate understanding and timely resolution of customer expectations and ongoing requirements.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Works directly with BD team, Applications, Engineering and Sales on specific pre/post sales product and process applications, needs discovery, feasibility evaluation, and alternatives.
  • With the Business Unit, evaluates the significance of product applications/modifications as they relate to customer expectations and timing as well as Business Unit resource availability.
  • Reviews customer's products, processes against the possible UIBU or Delta solution approaches and identifies projected savings based upon use of proposed equipment.
  • Prepares production capability and financial ROI analysis to assist the sales force with solution positioning and the customer with capital equipment justification.
  • Determines with Engineering if the requested product applications or modifications are feasibleIf feasible, drives sales to enter RFQIf not feasible, respond to sales with alternatives.
  • Assists sales, engineering, and product team to develop a quotation, including development time, cost and schedule.
  • May guide the solution assembly, configuration and integration.
  • Explains requested product applications/modifications quotations to the sales and customer, including justification as appropriate.
  • Assists sales with technical presentations, price negotiations, and customer acceptance criteria.
  • May assist in providing Solution specific technical training to UIBU field staff.
  • May assist in sales training related to solution or process applications.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline and 5+ years of experience in the capital goods industry, preferably in the sale or support of automated assembly or test solutions.
  • In lieu of degree; 8+ years' work experience in role may be considered.
  • Knowledge of UIBU subsystems with ability to adapt / change parameters for specific solutions.
  • Able to integrate 3rd party solutions into UIBU core platforms to perform needed functionality.


Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality
  • Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.


Physical Demands:
  • Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with fellow colleagues and in giving presentations.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites or technical conferences may occasionally be required (


Target Annual Base Salary: $105,000 - $115,000 + Robust Benefits
