Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Solutions Architect to support enterprise, portfolio, product line, and product-level research, analysis, problem-solving, and modernization. This role will be responsible for supporting senior technical resources and government clients, managing a wide and changing array of projects and priorities in line with government needs. This role is a fully remote position within the United States. Core office hours are 8am – 5pm ET.

Responsibilities
  • Develop strong and progressively deeper understanding of products, underlying business requirements, technical design, implementation infrastructure, interactions with other products within the same business process, and client and customer business issues and data challenges
  • Support the product line technical management team working with and across various sub-product lines
  • Support technical data and information gathering to plan, analyze, and evaluate aspects of product line operation
  • Support problem identification and root cause analyses
  • Support analysis of alternatives activities
  • Understand customer needs and recommend solutions and implementation approaches relating to integration, automation, and the creation of efficiencies benefiting customers and end users
  • Prepare, revise, and present reports and other information as needed to meet objectives and aid internal team and government understanding and action
  • Support capture and development of best practices and lessons learned from initiatives and projects
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Science,Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields with 5 years of related work experience
  • 5 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education (or 3-5 with relevant certifications in UX software)
  • Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, and workflows
  • Experience implementing cloud-based products (Azure or AWS)
  • Broad experience across a wide array of technological tools for full spectrum of technical solutions (databases, middleware, web UI and APIs)
  • Ability to build business knowledge and perspective of a particular business and the IT needs of that customer
  • Capability to assess process gaps and means to improve current procedures
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, presentations, and orally
  • Experience utilizing a variety of systems to conduct duties, including transactional systems, reporting systems, content management systems, and databases
  • Must have analytical and investigation skills
  • Must be very detailed oriented
  • Must be able to build collaborative relationships with diverse teams with varied needs
  • Ability to proactively communicate and coordinate with various internal and external project stakeholders, depending on needs
  • Solid experience with Microsoft and other collaborative tools, including Teams, SharePoint, and Jira
  • Mature written, oral, and visual communication with sensitivity to the perspectives, limitations, and needs of different audiences
  • Demonstrated experience in a remote work environment

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Utilize Jira for workflow management, risk management, and support of data calls as needed
  • Knowledge of SAFe/Agile delivery models
  • Experience supporting or leading within Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Information and Technology, Veterans Benefits Administration, and/or Veterans Health Administration is a plus

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust clearance
