Full Job Description
Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and technically sharp Solutions Architect to serve as the critical bridge between our Sales team and our Implementation and Product teams. In this role, you will own the technical side of the pre-sales process-leading discovery, designing tailored solutions, and ensuring that the planned approach is communicated and executed by the implementation team.

The Solutions Architect partners closely with Sales to understand prospect needs, translates those needs into clear, feasible solution designs, and then ensures a seamless, well-documented handoff to the Implementation team so that client expectations are met from day one. You are equally comfortable presenting to an executive as you are reviewing a data mapping specification with an engineer.

Beyond the deal cycle, this role plays a key part in continuous improvement-identifying patterns across client needs, surfacing product gaps and opportunities to the Product team, and helping develop reusable frameworks and best practices that make our implementations faster and more consistent over time.

This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate is a technical problem-solver who thrives at the intersection of sales, technology, and delivery. You must be able to move fluidly between strategic conversations and technical detail, and you take pride in setting both clients and internal teams up for success.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Lead technical discovery sessions with prospects and clients to understand business requirements, existing systems, data flows, and integration needs.
  1. Design solutions that are tailored to client needs and aligned to LauraMac's platform capabilities, clearly documenting scope, configuration requirements, and integration specifications.
  1. Partner with Sales throughout the pre-sales cycle, supporting demonstrations, responding to technical questions, and contributing to proposals and statements of work.
  1. Own the Sales-to-Implementation handoff, ensuring that proposed solutions are thoroughly documented and that the Implementation team has everything needed to deliver on client expectations without surprises.
  1. Serve as a support and escalation resource for the Implementation team on complex configuration, integration, or delivery challenges that arise post-sale.
  1. Identify recurring client needs, implementation challenges, and platform gaps; bring structured feedback to the Product and Strategy teams to inform the roadmap.
  1. Develop and maintain reusable solution frameworks, configuration templates, and best practice documentation to improve consistency and reduce implementation cost across engagements.
  1. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Owners, Engineering, Implementation, and Sales to lead or support strategic initiatives that improve how LauraMac delivers solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales Engineer, Technical Business Analyst, or similar role within a SaaS or enterprise software environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and document technical solutions including data flows, system integrations, API specifications, and configuration requirements.
  • Experience working directly in or alongside a sales process, including contributing to demos, RFP responses, and statements of work.
  • Strong understanding of configurable systems, integrations and data mapping.
  • Proficiency with SQL or similar tools for data analysis and validation.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills-able to adapt technical depth for both executive and engineering audiences.
  • Highly organized with strong documentation habits and attention to detail.
  • Mortgage industry experience, particularly in loan acquisition, secondary marketing, or correspondent lending, is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Encompass, or similar mortgage or financial services technology is a plus.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
