Summary

Spire is seeking a Cybersecurity Solutions Architect to work in the St. Louis or Birmingham office. This position will have a security focus on providing the necessary analysis and design tasks related to support the development of technology solutions to ensure these solutions meet business needs and align with enterprise architectural governance and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Translates business and technical requirements into an architectural solution blueprint to achieve business goals and documents all solution architecture design and analysis work.
  • Provides and maintains architectural designs and diagrams for individual and collective solutions and products.
  • Works with architects throughout the organization to create and define technology roadmap in developing vision for solutions and assess the impact of new and ongoing technology investment on the business and IT estate.
  • Leads design and analysis for the implementation of solutions based on value-streams, business requirements and enterprise standards.
  • Facilitates the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of both standard and custom software configurations for the solution in scope.
  • Strong ability to translate solution roadmap into annual planning and budget cycle.
  • Works closely with product management to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the specific product lifecycle.
  • Ability to lead teams and organization in alignment and transformation.
  • Provides consulting support to technical personnel and software engineers within agile teams to ensure the project or product is aligned with cyber security best practices and the overall enterprise architecture.
  • Ability to depict and communicate technical work in the form of product features in conjunction with Product Management and prioritize accordingly alongside business enhancements and enterprise initiatives.
  • Creates and maintains technical standards and policies at a solution level, in conjunction with architects throughout the organization.
  • Addresses dependencies at a solution level, providing oversight and guidance as needed.
  • Understand software licensing and the impact of licensing when making technology decisions.
  • Work with Information Security to complete security testing on applications.
  • Participates directly in the planning, development, implementation, and expansion of security technologies throughout the company.
  • Analyze cyber security discovery information and determine requirements and remediation while coordinating with various vendors and business stakeholders
  • Collaborate with members of cybersecurity and legal in matters involving incident response, litigation holds, internal investigations and eDiscovery

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No direct reports, but indirect influential leadership skills required


Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, information technology or related field is preferred; H.S. Diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years practical experience will be considered
  • Direct experience overseeing and/or onboarding security infrastructure such as endpoint protection, SIEM and log management technology, email security gateways such as Proofpoint, forensic solutions such as Axiom Cyber, EnCase, FTK etc.
  • Direct experience with the Incident Response process and the solutions needed for visibility and remediation efforts
  • Technical and applied experience in the Litigation hold and eDiscovery process to include endpoint collections, hold in place, data culling and the solutions required to achieve those requirements
  • Direct experience with court proceedings pertaining to eDiscovery or the presentation of technical data to the court is preferred.
  • Security+, CISSP, CCNA, CFCE, GCFA, GCFE or equivalent certifications
  • Membership in one of the following Security related professional organizations is preferred: SANS, ISACA, IACIS or similar


Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of security standards, frameworks, controls and best practices
  • Ability to lead by example in support of the Company's essential characteristics and values
  • Excellent analytical, planning, organizational and technical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish rapport with a diverse array of people
  • Strong analytical capabilities and a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of security technologies
  • Understanding of adversarial cyber security tactics, techniques and processes and continual research of new and emerging capabilities to ensure security in depth across the Company's threat surface
  • Advanced understanding of Information Technology, such as TCP/IP fundamentals, Web protocols (HTTPS), modifying system parameters, understanding network security, risk and threat prevention, forensics and incident response procedures and implementing security solutions.


Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Hybrid Remote/Office environment
  • Work performed primarily during business hours, with off-hours support required at times
  • Some Travel may be required as ITS and teams are disparate across locations
