Team Lead of the Advanced Technology & Sustainability Solution Engineering team, you will lead the execution of innovative advanced technology and renewable energy projects by providing technical leadership, developing engineering talent, and coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical Expertise - Lead the design and execution of advanced power and renewable energy solutions, including SST, TRU, E-STATCOM, BESS, PV, and Microgrid Control applications.
- Develop and validate integrated electrical, control, and system architectures that meet performance, reliability, safety, and customer requirements.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, including solution development, engineering documentation, system integration, and coordination with internal teams and external partners.
Quality Assurance - Ensure solutions meet quality, performance, and scalability requirements through close collaboration with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and project stakeholders.
- Monitor supplier quality and project execution activities to support successful installation, commissioning, and long-term solution performance.
Emerging Technologies - Apply advanced expertise in power electronics, inverter systems, power conversion technologies, communications, controls, and DC power systems.
- Drive the successful integration of emerging technologies into utility, industrial, and renewable energy applications.
Strong Technical Knowledge - Power electronics and converter technologies, including SST, TRU, E-STATCOM, PV, BESS, and related renewable energy solutions.
- Microgrid and Energy Management Systems (EMS), protection, automation, control systems, and medium- and low-voltage power distribution.
- Grid interconnection requirements, industrial communications, and cybersecurity principles to deliver reliable and scalable customer solutions.
Team Leadership - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 1-3 Solution Engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development support.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing engineering culture focused on customer success and technical excellence.
Customer Engagement - Partner with sales and proposal teams during pre-sales activities, including technical discussions, solution development, and customer presentations.
- Serve as the primary technical authority during project execution, leading customer reviews, testing, commissioning, startup, and final solution handover.
Stakeholder Communication - Provide technical updates to leadership and project stakeholders, communicating progress, key decisions, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Own technical risk management and drive resolution of issues related to system design, technology integration, supplier interfaces, and project execution.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across engineering, project management, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, and commissioning teams to ensure successful project delivery.
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 10+ years of experience in power systems engineering, solution engineering, systems engineering, renewable energy integration, power electronics, or related technical disciplines.
- 3+ years of experience leading technically complex projects involving multiple engineering disciplines is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership Skills:Demonstrated ability to lead directly assigned engineers and multidisciplinary engineering teams across different groups in projects through influence and technical expertise while managing technical risk, driving engineering decisions, resolving complex system integration challenges, and communicating effectively with technical and executive stakeholders.
- Software Application Knowledge: SieOps (salesforce); Autodesk suite, Microsoft Office, MS Teams
- Business Acumen:Ability to align technical solutions with business goals (e.g. identifying impacts of design changes on time & cost).
- Master's degree and/or P.E. license preferred
- First-of-a-kind (FOAK) technology development and deployment
- Solid State Transformers (SST), Transformer Rectifier Units (TRU), E-STATCOM / FACTS applications
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Renewable energy systems and microgrids
- System integration and controls
- Technical project leadership
- Risk management and systems engineering methodologies

The pay range for this position is $122,951 - $210,773 annually with a target incentive of 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
