Full Job Description
Position Overview

Knexus is seeking a highly creative, deeply technical, and mission-oriented Solution Architect / Sales Engineer to drive our custom AI solution growth within the DoW, FedCiv, DHS, and/or Intel sector.

We deliver highly sophisticated AI solutions that solve complex mission challenges and are searching for someone who can help potential customers piece Knexus' technical capabilities into a strong, motivating narrative that solves their challenges.

A successful Solution Architect / Sales Engineer will listen to client pain points, understand Knexus' existing AI solutions and architectures, and creatively adapt those foundations to show prospects what is possible. Working at the intersection of Business Development and Engineering, you will build technical demos, architect AI solutions and write technical content that inspires federal clients to think innovatively about AI.
Key Responsibilities
  • Architecture Adaptation & Solutioning: Deeply understand the frameworks, architectures, and underlying technologies of Knexus' existing AI solutions. Creatively tweak, combine, and leverage these core foundations to address entirely new challenge areas.
  • Narrative & Demo Creation: Design and architect highly flexible, compelling technical demonstrations. Craft powerful, confident narratives that illustrate how a client's specific problems can be solved seamlessly by leveraging our established technology and experience.
  • Technical Proposal Support: Support Knexus' sales & proposal efforts by writing compelling and credible technical content for inclusion into our proposals.
  • Consultative Discovery & Client Research: Actively listen to federal clients to uncover deeply rooted pain points, mission challenges, and operational bottlenecks. Translate these ambiguous needs into concrete technical opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the critical bridge between the Business Development (BD) and Development/Engineering teams. Ensure that proposed solutions are highly motivating and strategic for BD, while remaining realistic, feasible, and secure from an engineering perspective.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience supporting federal clients, with a deep understanding of federal mission areas, procurement culture, and operational environments.
  • Professional Background: A proven track record in management or technical consulting. Candidates coming strictly from standard SaaS or product-licensing backgrounds will not be considered; we require a consultative, custom-delivery mindset.
  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on software development background (Python, Java, etc.) with a deep understanding of core AI fundamentals, including complex algorithmic domains like automated planning, scheduling, and multi-agent system, alongside cloud AI ecosystems (e.g., Gemini, Vertex AI).
  • Creative Problem Solving & Library Adaptation: Ability to dig directly into internal software libraries, map complex algorithmic components to new use cases, and rapidly build functional proof-of-concept demos or technical mocks for client discussions.
  • Technical Proposal Support: Draft concrete, technically rigorous initial proposal sections and white papers that explain how our underlying algorithms, planners, and architectures will solve specific federal mission needs.
