Job Description:

Purpose of Position:

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and delivering technology solutions that align with FSRA's enterprise architecture and modernization objectives. The position bridges business requirements with technical execution to ensure that solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with FSRA's governance, data, and integration standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design & Development
  • Designs and documents end-to-end technical solutions that meet business and functional requirements while adhering to enterprise architecture principles.
  • Works with product owners, technical leads, and delivery partners, to support the successful implementation of platforms.
  • Supports configuration, integration, and deployment of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and related Azure services.
  • Develops and maintains solution blueprints, sequence diagrams, and interface specifications.
  • Ensures designs incorporate scalability, security, compliance, and performance best practices.
  • Participates in architecture reviews, contributing to solution governance and documentation of architecture artifacts.


Collaboration and Communication
  • Collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements to translate needs into solution architectures, data models, and integration approaches.
  • Coordinates with Infrastructure and Security teams to align solutions with FSRA's standards for access, network, and data protection.


Project and Risk Management Support
  • Manages scope, time, and resources for architectural components, identifying risks, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Works with project teams to identify risks, dependencies, and technical constraints early in the delivery cycle.
  • Supports proof-of-concepts and pilots for new technologies or integration approaches.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of solution patterns, documentation templates, and reference architectures.
  • Maintains currency with Microsoft ecosystem updates, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements relevant to FSRA's environment.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience
  • Postsecondary degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise technology solutions, preferably within regulated or public-sector environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Azure services.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Solutions Architect Expert, Power Platform Solution Architect Expert, or Azure Architect Associate are assets.


Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong understanding of integration technologies such as Logic Apps, Service Bus, APIs, and data migration frameworks.
  • Sound understanding of FSRA programs, services, and objectives to ensure solutions deliver value and align with strategic goals.
  • Familiarity with Dataverse, data governance, and application security models.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and using Azure DevOps for backlog, pipeline, and release management.
  • Knowledge of architectural frameworks and principles (e.g., TOGAF, Microsoft CAF)
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, assess risks, and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions that align with strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance business priorities with technical feasibility and resource constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences providing authoritative advice and recommendations to management and project teams: to build relationships, influence decisions, and facilitate discussions among diverse stakeholders
