Your role and responsibilities
As the IBM Technology Expert Labs Worldwide Solution Architect for Infrastructure, you will be part of a
team of Solution Architects focused on designing solutions with IBM's Infrastructure technologies focused IBM System Z.
You will work closely with clients and account teams to assess their needs to architect and define innovative IBM Z infrastructure technology solutions including system-level architectures and technology services that meet the client's business goals. In this role, you will evaluate business needs,and define solutions with IBM technology and services that leverage and fit in with the client's software,hardware, and infrastructure.
A successful Solution Architect will look for repeatable architecture patterns, automation, and assets to be deployed at scale. Lead technical workshops and discussions to define strategies for modernizationand transformation. Develop comprehensive proposals, project plans, and statements of work. Stay up-to-date with emerging infrastructure technologies and integrate them into solution designs. If you are

To help achieve this win-win outcome, a 'day-in-the-life' of this role may include, but not be limited to:
• Working closely with IBM Z clients to understand their main challenges and develop solutions to help them transform mission-critical IBM Z applications for hybrid cloud environments with stability, security, and agility.
• Create IBM zTPS solutions that use robust toolsets to develop and maintain applications; visualize, applications, data, and jobs; develop and test for cloud native app development and modernization in a flexible consumption model.
• Working together with IBM Z and Expert Labs sales team to respond to client opportunities with accurate and deliverable proposals.
• Working collaboratively with IBM Z Ecosystem to support customers transformation initiatives.
• Lead client workshops to influence stakeholders and develop actionable roadmaps for business value and ROI.
• Identifying solution patterns that include software configuration, systems architecture, and related sizing in phases such as design, development, integration, production support and operations.
• Scaling the global Solution Architect team by creating or guiding the creation of reusable assets and accelerators.
• Being a trusted advisor in navigating challenging debates to reach healthy resolutions.

Required technical and professional expertise
• Technology Skills: Skills and knowledge in the following technology areas: IBM's Infrastructure technologies (IBM System z)
• Track record of sizing and defining services focused solutions including functional and implementation requirements for phases such as design, development, integration, production,support and operations.
• Client Stakeholder Credibility Building: Experience in building credibility and service orientation with client stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to navigate complex client engagements
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Technology Expertise: Deep expertise in at least one of the following technology areas: IBM System z, z/OS, Machine Learning / AI on z, Data and Analytics on z, Geographically Dispersed, Parallel Sysplex (GDPS) resiliency solutions and automation.
• Client facing Experience: Experience working with clients in defining technology solutions
• Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
• Experience with any of the IBM Software portfolio considered a plus - IBM Data & AI products
• Experience in IBM Z Modernization strategies and tools.
• Knowledge of Transaction processing systems and enterprise infrastructure design.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
