Solar Site Quality Manager

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking a Site Quality Manager to support site-specific quality assurance and operational excellence initiatives across our Utility Scale Solar projects. This role is responsible for leading on-site quality control efforts, tracking performance, and implementing continuous improvement strategies to ensure high standards and successful project delivery. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in Lean Six Sigma, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to driving quality and efficiency at the project level.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Project Site Quality Analysis:
    • Manage the analysis of operational processes at project sites, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.
    • Collaborate with on-site teams to streamline workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and enhance resource utilization.
    • Oversee the implementation of process improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and ensure project success.
  2. Performance Measurement and Reporting:
    • Monitor project-specific key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance tracking mechanisms.
    • Monitor project performance metrics, analyze data, and identify trends or areas requiring improvement.
    • Ensure the generation of regular reports for project stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for enhancing operational efficiency and quality.
  3. Continuous Improvement Facilitation:
    • Supervise and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives at project sites, employing Lean Six Sigma methodologies or similar frameworks.
    • Encourage on-site teams to actively participate in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing innovative solutions.
    • Oversee workshops, training sessions, and collaborative problem-solving activities to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee the implementation of quality control processes specific to each project site, conducting audits as necessary.
    • Support corrective actions and drive the implementation of quality improvements to enhance project deliverables.
  5. Project-Specific Training and Development:
    • Identify training needs of on-site teams and train Primoris programs to enhance their capabilities.
    • Conduct training to project teams that will optimization and improve quality of their product.
    • Conduct On-the-job learning training that promotes skill development, knowledge sharing, and best practice implementation.
  6. Change Management and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with project stakeholders to manage change initiatives and ensure smooth transitions during process improvements.
    • Communicate changes effectively, address concerns, and facilitate buy-in from on-site teams.
    • Actively engage with stakeholders to understand project requirements, challenges, and opportunities for optimization.
  7. Supervision of Site Quality Technicians:
    • Provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to the Operational Excellence Technician.
    • Assign tasks and monitor their progress.
    • Ensure the Technician's audits are performed to improve project site operations.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Proven experience in quality, process improvement, or project management roles.
  • Knowledge of process optimization methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess complex operational scenarios and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with on-site teams and stakeholders.
  • Change management experience and the ability to influence and motivate teams in a project environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues in a dynamic project site setting.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and practices.
  • Proficiency in using productivity tools and data analysis software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must comply with client safety requirements (e.g., clean-shaven, long sleeves, steel-toe boots).
  • Must pass a physical exam if required.
    • Able to:
    • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways.
    • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces (e.g., towers, vessels, excavations).
    • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (Use assistance for heavier loads).
    • Stand or walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel).
    • Must be able to wear a respirator and other PPE when required.

WORK LOCATION:
  • Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops.

MOBILITY BARRIERS:

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Predominantly outdoor work
    • Exposure to:
    • Extreme heat or cold
