Full Job Description
Your New Role...

This role sits at the intersection of broadcast engineering, software development, networking, and operational support. The engineer will build and maintain tools, integrations, dashboards, and automations that connect multi-vendor broadcast systems, monitoring platforms, APIs, databases, and transport workflows. The goal is to improve visibility, reduce manual work, speed up troubleshooting, and help modernize Distribution and Transmission operations.

Your Role Accountabilities...

The Software Systems Engineer will be responsible for analyzing use cases and requirements from internal client teams and/or client services and will provide technical solutions accordingly. This includes attending meetings, providing estimates, and communicating project plans to stakeholders.
  • Write effective, scalable code with proper error handling and logging.
  • Test and debug programs and improve functionality of existing systems.
  • Thoroughly document all programs and processes developed.
  • Available to support high profile events.


Qualifications & Experiences...
  • BS Degree in any Engineering or related field (Computer Science, IT, etc.)
  • 4 years of experience developing code to integrate products from multiple vendors
  • Experience developing and implementing monitoring and automation tools
  • Hands-on database experience (querying, designing, and maintaining SQL)
  • Experience working with RESTful API's using JSON & XML
  • Experience with Git as well as Bash scripting
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong data analysis skills & experience with data wrangling
  • Demonstrated experience operating in both Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience setting up and working in cloud-hybrid environments
  • Ability to work with teams in multiple cities over multiple time zones


Desirable Skills...
  • Experience with Python, C++, or C#
  • Experience with Ansible, Netmiko and related tools
  • Experience with Skyline's Dataminer EMS
  • Familiarity with streaming technologies and video transport including, but not limited to, HLS, MPEG DASH, WebRTC, SRT, RIST, Zixi
  • Experience with modern broadcast technologies including ST-2110, NDI, JPEG XS, NMOS
  • Experience with long haul data transport via fiber, satellite, bonded cellular
  • Experience with DRM platforms (Widevine, Veramatrix, etc.)
  • Experience with video test and measurement standards such as ETR-101 290
  • Knowledge of content delivery networks (CDNs) and support for multiple CDN distribution options
