Job Description

The AMMM Software Quality Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated self-starting individual who has a passion for aviation software development and a keen eye for detail. This job isn't for everyone. It requires the ability to apply knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle with Quality Engineering Methodologies and Tools to be an independent authority giving our customers the confidence that their platform's software was developed in accordance with contractual requirements, industry standards, and company policies and procedures.

What this job is NOT. This is NOT a Quality Assurance Tester position. You will NOT be developing test scripts. You will NOT be writing or developing deliverable software code.

Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting product and process evaluations/audits to ensure compliance against approved procedures.
• Monitoring quality gates in GitLab for compliance with company DevSecOps procedures.
• Learning and understanding the tools used to perform automated quality gate checks.
• Performing trend analysis on failure data to identify systemic issues.
• Owning non-conformance reports (Findings and Internal Corrective Action Requests) end-to-end: identification, documentation, tracking, verification of corrective action implementation, and closure.
• Facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) events and ensure robust Corrective Action Plans (CAP) are developed to prevent recurrence of non-conformances.
• Reviewing and approving software program plans and deliverable documentation in support of DO-178C objectives and contract deliverable line items (CDRLs).
• Supporting major technical milestone events (PDR, CDR, TRR, FCA, PCA, etc.).
• Participating in Agile ceremonies (Scrum, PI Planning, Retrospectives). Manage individual JIRA dashboard.
• Supporting Stage of Involvement (SOI) audits.
• Presenting metrics and project status to Software Quality Engineering leadership.
• Acting as the independent observer for Formal Qualification Test (FQT) witnessing to ensure the lab environment is under configuration control and the test is executed according to the Software Test Plan.
• Supporting verification of Production Software Media.

A successful candidate will need to have a strong independent learning mindset with the demonstrated ability to analyze complex processes to make compliance determinations.

Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written) are a must as you will be working across all levels of the organization, in particular, interfacing with the Agile Software Development Teams, Software Engineering Leadership, Software Quality Engineering Leadership, and customer representatives from Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).

Basic Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science), with minimum of 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related master's degree

-Experience supporting System & Software Engineering requirements, design, integration and test activities in an Agile Development Framework as an active team member

-Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies and development of Corrective Action Plans (CAP)

-Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma (LSS) principles

-Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams

Desired skills
• Demonstrated experience in software development and/or auditing the development process in accordance with DO-178C and approved program procedures
• Experience reviewing and approving key deliverable software documentation including but not limited to: PSAC, SDP, SCMP, SQAP, STD, STP, STR, SAS, SVD
• Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9115, and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and Standards
• LSS Green Belt Certification
• Experience with Atlassian tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience facilitating or co-facilitating RCCA events
• Familiarity with GitLab
• Familiarity with the DevSecOps software development framework
• Experience supporting execution or oversight of Formal Qualification Testing (FQT)
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
• Ability to obtain secret clearance, after hire
• ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE)
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $80,600 - $139,840. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
