Software Product Manager, WXP

Description -

About the position:

As a Principal Product Manager for WXP Alerting, you will own and advance the product strategy, roadmap, and delivery of WXP's alerting capabilities. This role will backfill the current alerting product leadership responsibilities and will focus on scaling WXP from basic alert monitoring into a flexible, intelligent, partner-ready alerting platform. You will partner closely with engineering, UX, data, platform, partner, Active Care, Print, ServiceNow, and customer-facing teams to define requirements, prioritize roadmap investments, manage dependencies, and deliver high-impact alerting capabilities that support real-time detection, custom alert creation, hardware and security metrics, schema-based extensibility, partner alert management, ITSM integrations, notifications, and future AI-assisted alert workflows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the WXP Alerting product roadmap, including custom alerts, device- and fleet-level alerts, hardware alerts, security metrics, schema-based alerting, partner alerting, notification enhancements, and alert lifecycle improvements.
  • Translate customer, partner, field, and internal stakeholder needs into clear product strategy, business cases, PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization recommendations.
  • Drive expansion of alerting coverage across WXP data classes and KPIs, enabling faster onboarding of new metrics and reducing engineering bottlenecks through schema-driven and reusable platform approaches.
  • Partner with engineering, UX, data, agent, platform API, and architecture teams to deliver scalable alerting experiences that meet accessibility, localization, dark mode, role, subscription tier, demo, analytics, and release-readiness requirements.
  • Lead alerting initiatives that support real-time detection, configurable thresholds, monitoring scope, notification channels, escalation behavior, alert acknowledgement, alert resolution, alert history, and improved active alert workflows.
  • Own cross-functional alignment for ServiceNow, workflow automation, public API, partner experience, Managed Services, Active Care, Print, and other integrations that depend on WXP alerting capabilities.
  • Engage directly with IT administrators, MSPs, GSIs, HP services teams, sales, customer success, and strategic customers to validate alerting use cases, prioritize roadmap tradeoffs, and ensure alerting capabilities solve high-value operational problems.
  • Use data, adoption metrics, customer feedback, competitive analysis, and operational outcomes to measure feature impact and guide continuous improvement of WXP alerting.
  • Manage complex dependencies across global product and engineering teams, balancing near-term customer commitments with long-term platform scalability and extensibility.
  • Communicate roadmap status, risks, tradeoffs, and executive-level recommendations clearly to product leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving product areas that require experimentation, technical learning, rapid problem solving, and strong judgment.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, enterprise IT, observability, ITSM, endpoint management, digital employee experience, device management, or related software domains.
  • 5+ years of product management experience delivering complex software capabilities from discovery through launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience owning product strategy and roadmap for platform capabilities, monitoring, alerting, workflow automation, integrations, APIs, partner experiences, or operational tooling strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical fluency and ability to work closely with engineering on data models, API readiness, schema-driven configuration, system dependencies, performance considerations, and scalable platform design.
  • Ability to synthesize customer feedback, competitive benchmarks, market trends, telemetry, and business priorities into clear product decisions and actionable requirements.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT administrator workflows, incident management, notification strategies, remediation workflows, and partner or managed services operating models.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through ambiguity, align stakeholders, manage dependencies, and make tradeoffs across customer commitments, platform architecture, and delivery capacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write precise PRDs, explain technical tradeoffs, and present roadmap recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Passion for building intuitive, scalable, and high-value products that help IT teams detect issues faster, reduce noise, automate action, and improve employee experience.
