Do you enjoy solving complex technology challenges and helping teams do their best work? As a Software Engineering Senior Manager, you will lead the Safire application platform that supports mail-order fulfillment pharmacies for Home Delivery, Accredo, and Express Scripts Specialty Distribution Services. You will guide a talented engineering team, strengthen production stability, and partner across product, engineering, and automation teams to improve secure, reliable service delivery for the people who count on us.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end accountability for the pharmacy application suite, with a focus on stable, secure, and reliable production operations.
  • Set the scheduling systems strategy for the pharmacy technology application suite, balancing operational excellence, modernization, and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI and cloud capabilities, to improve platform resiliency, scalability, and supportability.
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor to business partners, product owners, and IT leaders, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards and operational best practices.
  • Lead root cause analysis, remediation planning, and preventive actions for post-production incidents.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing software engineering team of 8-15 professionals, fostering ownership, accountability, and growth.
  • Partner with Product Owners to evaluate, prioritize, and plan customer and user requests based on business value, quality, and budget.
  • Drive process improvements and contribute to cross-functional IT programs that strengthen the team and the platform.


Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, application support, production systems, or a related technology field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading technical, software engineering, or application support teams.
  • Experience diagnosing, resolving, and preventing complex production issues in enterprise environments.
  • Strong background in root cause analysis, incident management, change management, release coordination, and production governance.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in high-pressure or outage scenarios.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to support critical initiatives and production needs.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on or historical experience with AI technologies, cloud technology such as AWS or OpenShift, Microsoft C#.NET, C++, Angular, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, fulfillment, pharmacy, or high-volume operational systems.
