DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Lead the design and architecture of software applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability are in alignment to ensure company business needs. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, security, and maintainability across initiatives enforcing engineering standards. Work closely with product management, operations, L2 support team, relationship managers, incident managers, co-brand partners, and audit to align engineering efforts with business goals and deliver customer focused solutions. Make critical technical decisions related to software architecture, technology stack, infrastructure, and integrations that impact the success of the engineering initiatives. Oversee the day-to-day activities of software engineering teams to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within scope. Provide mentorship to software developers, guiding them on technical best practices and fostering professional growth. Plan and allocate resources efficiently across projects, balancing workloads, and ensuring engineers have the support they need to meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's Degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineering, IT Project Manager, Applications Development, System Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineering, IT Project Manager, Applications Development, System Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Developing software in a Microservices environment that deploys as a REST API; Developing software utilizing Spring, Spring Boot, and Maven or Gradle to resolve application dependencies; Building applications that utilize JSON and XML formatted data files and service payloads for data transfer; Developing applications with AWS Cloud Service, Kubernetes, SQL, Oracle, Splunk, and Cucumber; CI/CD tools including Jenkins to ensure application deployment efficiency; Version control tools including BitBucket and Git; Architecture and system design of large scale application systems; Automated Testing; Blackbox Testing; Functional Testing; Manual testing; Performance Testing; Regression Testing; System Integration Testing; Unit Testing; User Acceptance Testing.
