Job Description

We are seeking an experienced software engineering leader to manage teams responsible for delivering For-Benefit-Of (FBO) and Virtual Account Management (VAM) products. In this role, you will lead engineering teams that build scalable embedded payments and virtual account capabilities, helping clients manage money movement on behalf of their customers while maintaining transparency, control, and operational efficiency. You will guide the delivery of secure, resilient, API-enabled solutions that support onboarding, payment-rail integration, transaction processing, reconciliation, reporting, risk controls, and operational monitoring. You will partner closely with product, architecture, risk, operations, business, and vendor stakeholders to translate product strategy into executable engineering roadmaps. As a people leader, you will coach and develop engineers, promote strong engineering practices, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This position requires a leader who can connect business priorities, platform strategy, regulatory expectations, and technical execution to deliver differentiated client experiences and scalable product capabilities.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Six to eight years of relevant technical experience
- Five or more years of experience leading software engineering teams

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience leading software engineering teams that deliver financial technology, treasury management, embedded payments, virtual account, deposit, or payment-rail capabilities
  • Strong understanding of FBO and VAM product concepts, including virtual account structures, master DDA relationships, program manager and program participant models, transaction replication, reconciliation, reporting, onboarding, and control requirements
  • Experience delivering scalable API-based products and platform integrations across client-facing channels, virtual account platforms, core deposit systems, payment rails, risk systems, reporting tools, and operational support platforms
  • Ability to define, prioritize, and execute engineering roadmaps while managing dependencies across product, architecture, operations, risk, vendor, and implementation teams
  • Strong knowledge of secure software development practices, engineering controls, production readiness, resiliency, data protection, and regulatory expectations in a financial services environment
  • Ability to understand complex product features, user journeys, system flows, and operational impacts across high-volume onboarding, payment processing, reporting, exception management, and reconciliation workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to align technology strategy with business outcomes, including revenue growth, client experience, operational scale, risk management, and platform modernization
  • Strong analytical, planning, prioritization, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex FBO/VAM concepts, delivery plans, technical tradeoffs, and risks to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and talent-development skills, with a track record of building accountable, collaborative, high-performing engineering teams
