Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow high-performing software development teams. This role is based in our Leggett & Platt Idea Center office in Lenexa, Kansas, and will play a key part in delivering robust, high-quality software solutions, including IoT-based products.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will provide technical leadership, foster a strong team culture, and drive execution across both long-term product strategies and short-term project deliverables.

So, what will you be doing as Software Engineering Manager?
  • Lead a team of software developers to provide enterprise and consumer solutions in the mobile and web platforms
  • Own the facilities management function, including building maintenance and space planning
  • Lead and coordinate software development activities, ensuring adherence to engineering processes
  • Convert product strategy into clear technical plans and execution milestones
  • Mentor and develop engineers and software developers, promoting strong technical and professional growth
  • Track team progress to ensure quality, schedule, and requirements are met
  • Provide actionable product performance feedback and incorporate lessons learned
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team culture
  • Drive continuous improvement in development tools, processes, and workflows
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Program Management, and senior leaders


To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of technical and people leadership experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Data-driven decision-making and strong analytical skills
