The ideal candidate brings deep software engineering expertise, a proven ability to lead and mentor engineers, and a track record of delivering high-quality, reliable software in a fast-moving, consultative environment. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to directly influence product strategy, engineering culture, and delivery standards across STV's Advisory practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead code review practices that promote quality, consistency, and knowledge sharing.

Team Leadership & Growth

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers spanning a range of experience levels.

  • Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management as the team grows.

  • Coach team members on technical excellence, career development, and delivery effectiveness.

Engineering Operations & Process

  • Establish and continuously improve development operations including CI/CD pipelines, release practices, and production support workflows.

  • Partner with Product, Data, Consulting, and Advisory stakeholders to translate business needs into well-defined technical solutions.

  • Balance speed of delivery with long-term maintainability, reliability, and technical debt management.

  • Help define and evolve the team's agile or hybrid delivery approach to best fit project and client needs.

Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to the evolution of STV's Digital Advisory Products, providing input on technical roadmap, tooling, and platform direction.

  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering efficiency, product quality, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Support client-facing engagements as needed by representing engineering perspectives with confidence and clarity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2-3 years in a technical lead or engineering management role.

  • Strong experience delivering production software using modern architectures, frameworks, and development practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams while staying technically credible and hands-on.

  • Experience overseeing delivery across multiple projects or products simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a consulting, advisory, or product-focused environment.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, modern DevOps practices, and scalable system design.

  • Experience working within agile or hybrid delivery models.

  • Background supporting products or platforms used across multiple clients or internal teams.
