As a Lead Software Engineer on our team, you'll play a key role in supporting our digital transformation journey by leading a team of developers to build and implement large scale applications involving APIs and UIs that will be leveraged across the business. With us, you'll be both hands-on and strategic, diving deep into code to define system behavior, and establishing technical roadmaps that you and the developers on your team will act upon to deliver quality and scalable software solutions. You will have a unique exposure to multiple frameworks as this team uses both Java & Microsoft technologies for its components. In carrying out this, you'll also have the opportunity to directly engage with senior leadership as you communicate back and forth with the business to ensure these software solutions align with business objectives.
In this role, you will:
- Build and implement complex, large-scale applications capable of integrating with multiple internal/external systems
- Engage in and lead development efforts across the full SDLC from design and coding through to test, build, QA, deployment, and maintenance
- Leverage your experience with cloud infrastructure to build cloud-based software solutions and support the migration of applications to the cloud
- Liaise with Core Platform team to build & reuse enterprise frameworks
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies (Agentic AI, AI SDLC, cloud, serverless) to improve platform efficiency and scalability.
- Mentor a team of software developers to build quality software solutions aligned to architecture guidelines
- Strategize and support the migration of applications to server-less architecture solutions
- Build applications capable of processing large sets of data using Spring Batch Framework with logging capabilities via the ELK stack
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into consumable technical stories and software solutions
Qualifications- 12+ years of hands-on, full-stack development experience building end to end software applications utilizing either Java (Java, Apache Camel, Kafka, SpringBoot, Camunda) Or Microsoft technology stack (C#, .Net Core, .NET Framework, ASP.NET)
- Deep knowledge using Integration frameworks like BizTalk, Appworks
- Deep understanding of SQL Server and Cosmos DB, including database design models, database performance optimization and the ability to develop and maintain PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Triggers, and Functions in SQL Server
- Demonstrated experience developing REST based APIs using Microservice architecture, Open API Specification and/or creating specifications w/Swagger
- Experience in containerizing applications using Docker & Kubernetes on Azure
- Experience with XML, XSLT, Single Page Applications in Angular, TFS, GIT, and AppDynamics
- Insurance background is a huge plus; experience in implementing Commercial Lines platform/systems integration with Duck Creek, Insurity or similar policy admin systems is a bonus
- Previous experience with any cloud solutions (Azure preferred) along with experience configuring Dev-Ops / continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Git, Jenkins and/or Maven is preferred
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
The pay range for the role is $166,100 to $240,900. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors.
